The government has announced today that the changes to the age of a dependent child will be in force on October 24, 2017. Starting on that day, the definition of a dependent child will be as follows:
- Children under the age of 22 who are not married and are not in common-law relationships
- Children above the age of 22 who are financially dependent on their parents because of a physical or mental condition
