Citizenship and Immigration Canada will be changing the definition of dependant children for immigration applications this Friday, August 1, 2014. All applications submitted after this date for temporary and permanent residence will be affected.
Here is the new definition of a dependant child:
Please note: Exceptions will no longer be made for children who are students.
If you have a child who is close to the age of 19, it is imperative that you submit your application before his/her 19th birthday to ensure that he/she will be counted as your dependant child.
