Expanded Family Work Permits

In the first month of 2023, we’ve received some good news from IRCC. Many more family members of work permit holders will be eligible for open work permits starting January 30. Also, the Out-of-Status Construction Workers in the GTA Permanent Residence program has been extended for this year. Here are the details on Family Permits:

New NOC Codes

Beginning today, IRCC will be implementing the new NOC 2021 system which is the classification for occupations in the Canadian immigration system. This system will affect LMIAs and employer-specific work permits as well as permanent residence applications such as Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs.
